Winter may have a firm grip on Central Ohio, but the Pickerington North Girls Basketball team showed plenty of heat Friday night.
The Panthers fired on all cylinders at home, rolling to a dominant 60–13 victory over Central Crossing.
Junior Elina Stefanitsis jump-started the offense early, knocking down a pair of three-pointers to fuel a 10–2 opening run in the first quarter. Senior Trinity Clay led all scorers with nine points, while freshman guard Myah Bolden added eight. Junior Mariah Hawthorne chipped in seven points in the balanced scoring effort.
Defensively, North was just as sharp. Sophomore Tatum Woodbury paced the Panthers with four steals, and freshman Brooklyn Reynolds controlled the glass with nine rebounds.
All 12 rostered players saw the floor as head coach Rodger Oakes rotated frequently, blending youth and experience throughout the contest.
Pickerington North will look to keep the momentum rolling on its home court, welcoming Olentangy Berlin with a scheduled tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
