Columbus Eagles Set for Season-Ending Showdowns
Team aiming for unbeaten 2025 regular season campaign
The Columbus Eagles are preparing to close out their Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) regular season this weekend with a pair of crucial matchups.
The first contest kicks off on Thursday, June 20, as the Eagles travel to Centerville, Ohio, to take on FC Dayton. Columbus will be looking to replicate their dominant performance from the season opener on May 18, when they secured a convincing 4–1 victory over Dayton.
On Sunday evening, the Eagles close out the regular season with a matchup against Greater Toledo Football Club. The Eagles enjoyed a 4-0 victory just five days ago when both clubs met in Findlay.
Nikki Cox
Forward Nikki Cox continues to be an offensive juggernaut for the Eagles. She paces Columbus with nine goals this season, just one shy of her season-high 10 goals in 2024, including two instances in which she collected hat-tricks. One of those came against Dayton, and the other occurred against Corktown just a week later.
Dominance
So far this season Columbus has scored 21 goals and allowed just three against. A mark of true dominance under first-year head coach Tony Daniels.
Game times
Tonight’s contest will be contested in Dayton and begins at 7 PM. The regular season finale on Sunday is slated to begin at 5 PM and tickets can be purchased here.
